Simon joined GlobeCast Australia after 12 years with the GlobeCast Group’s Broadcast Services division, including as head of the group’s global contribution business with a special focus on sport and news. Simon worked in the UK on major DTH projects including the renewal of GlobeCast UK’s DTH Satellite transponder capacity. Simon was a Director of GC Hong Kong, GC Asia (Singapore) and GC India.

Bryce joined GCA from London where he was New Business Director at ITN Productions, the UK’s leading provider of video content for online & mobile broadcast platforms; producing news, entertainment & customised programming for global brands, such as ITV, Channel 4, Bauer Media & Emirates Airlines. Bryce also led Nokia’s new business app program, supporting Symbian and WP7 apps for Sky News, Ski School, Ministry of Sound, RAC & Turner Broadcasting.

Peter joined in GCA in 2004 following careers at Telstra, Nine Network, and Avaya. At GCA, Peter has managed Broadcast Services Sales for events including the Olympics,FIFA World Cup, ICC Cricket World Cup, Rugby World Cup, Rugby League World Cup and the Ashes Cricket Tours. Peter has also overseen special events including APEC,CHOGM and the Pacific Islands Forum which required high level engagement with government agencies.

Greg commenced with GCA in Broadcast Operations on the Sydney 2000 Olympics, later managing GCA’s DSNG fleet. Greg now has responsibility for all Broadcast Services including major domestic and international sporting and news events, as well as live TV production. Greg’s previous roles have been with Network TEN, Reuters TV and Sky News UK.

GlobeCast Australia’s 10-truck fleet is the largest in Australia, NZ and the Pacific Islands, all equipped with fully redundant uplinks (C-Band and Ku-Band) and capable of single and multi-channel transmission. Our fleet covers all sporting codes and news stories in Australia and NZ. The fleet includes two portable flyaway uplinks for flexibility and reliability, including six state-of-the-art HD units. All highly skilled technical crews have extensive broadcast experience.
Our MCR operates 24 hours a day, providing fully automated and tailor-made solutions, tape play-out and associated services and service restoration as required. The MCR also provides an around-the-clock helpline for bookings and activations. GlobeCast Australia has 14 C/KU band satellite transmit / receive antenna’s covering the Australasian and Pacific regions.
Services includes full-time channels, scheduled programs or ad hoc feeds via permanent connectivity, fixed infrastructure or temporary installations at CBD or remote locations. Our clients range across Mining, Medical, Finance, Tourism, Technology, Manufacturing, Retail, Fashion and Entertainment. TV on mobiles is a fast-growing broadcast area. GlobeCast Australia is the provider of a nine channel bouquet for Hutchison’s 3G ‘3’ Mobile Network across Australia.
GCA is a world-class specialist in live, miniature camera technology through our Australian-made “GlobeCam” service.
Our client Fox Sports deployed GlobeCam over the 2012/13 Australian cricket season to give their viewers new and exciting perspectives on play. The GlobeCast Australia fibre network directly connects Australia, New Zealand, the USA, and the UK. The network is fully protected and self-healing utilising SDH/SONET technology.
The company is a member of the GlobeCast worldwide group with access to the proprietary fibre network connecting the world's leading media and business hubs across Europe, the USA and Asia.
GlobeCast Australia has an international association with Pacific Television (PAC TV) enabling connectivity and availability to 24/7 Teleports in Los Angeles, London and New York.
GCA has full time bi-directional connectivity to BT Tower London and the LA Switch with low latency guaranteed; and connectivity to all major Australian and New Zealand broadcasters.
GCA offers global coverage through advanced MCPC platforms. With fixed leased transponders and alliances with major carriers, we offer full-time and occasional transmission solutions. GCA operates its own leases on Optus satellites, and has arrangements with all other key international satellite providers, including Intelsat.
GCA’s DTH platforms deliver more than 63 channels across Optus D2 and Optus D3. We aggregate programming for Australia’s largest pay TV service FOXTEL (including CCTV, AL Jazeera and Setanta Sports). We also have carriage agreements with IntelSat to carry channels on IntelSat IS19. GCA distributes linear ethnic channels on Optus D2 into Australian and NZ homes from countries as diverse as India, Holland, and Croatia.
GCA offers total broadcast solutions including global backhaul, uplink, downlink, encoding, multiplexing, encryption, time-delay, local play-out, 24/7 monitoring, IP monitoring and SMS Services. Solutions are tailor made to suit individual client requirements. Radio channels are also transmitted as DTH services.GCA launched Australia’s first MPEG4 DTH service in October 2012. GCA’s Optus D2 service uses the latest Thompson MPEG4/MPEG2 encoders.
GlobeCast Australia is a key long-term supplier to Foxtel. They deliver Hollywood content to Foxtel via fibre from LA to Sydney, they are critical to our disaster recovery, and they uplink satellite channels to the Foxtel platform. They are always reliable and they innovate with us as the television world changes.
